
Author’s note: The second installment of the trilogy takes place nine years later in the plot, from 1980 to 1989. The protagonist, Jasper Trueblood, has graduated from college student to college English teacher, he’s engaged to be married, and life is going really well – a good time to toss in a grenade!
Michael G. Hickey is the oldest of eleven children and grew up in Belleville, IL. He earned a BA in creative writing from the University of Arizona, 1987, and an MFA from the University of Washington, 1992. In 2004, he won the Candlelight Poetry Award from Armadillo Press and in 2009, he was inaugurated as Seattle’s eighth Poet Populist. Hickey has been a college writing professor for thirty years. In his spare time, he enjoys performing stand-up comedy as well as volunteering as a writing instructor at children’s bereavement camps, juvenile detention, and federal prison. His motto: work hard and have fun. His primary objective: limitless spiritual expansion. His ultimate goal: take over the world 25 students at a time.
